Handmade Jewellery by Gleeful Peacock

AMFD website

Over the past few days AMFD have been asking other designers – wether it be jewellery or clothing – what gives them the drive they have to create such pieces.
We have been fortunate to have been able to talk to Nikki who designs Jewellery. Her jewellery collections can be found on Etsy which shows just how passionate she is about what she does. Here Nikki tells us how she started out and what pushed her to start Gleeful Peacock.

Gleeful Peacock

” I started the shop in August but I have been making items for gifts since I can remember. I love to work with my hands. Even more so I love to create items that I know are unique and came from my head. The name Gleeful Peacock was something that came about when I thought about why I was creating this business and what I wanted to accomplish. When I was in my 20′s I had a great paying job. I was chasing the dream. Problem was that it was not my dream. I lost myself. When I was young I was colorful and creative person. I had no problem with standing up for myself or standing out in a crowd. As I got older I just wanted to blend in and follow the path that I was ‘supposed’ to follow. Something happened when I turned 30. I decided that I wanted to get back to me. The Gleeful Peacock is my way to express who I am and the journey we all take. Hopefully we are all headed towards being happy, colorful, and gleeful creatures. I strive to be someone that is okay with standing out, being who I am, and being happy about who that person is! My pieces are all either a creation of color, a statement, or a symbol that reminds us to grow, thrive and be happy. ”
Below are some images of her creations and to show her wonderful craftsmanship.

I think you should go with a darker rose, the pink is far to much for the piece it is set upon, which looks to be a very old and traditional style bracelet.
